Commercial Vehicle Show 2022

Great to be back at the Commercial Vehicle Show this week, meeting with existing and new clients, discussing their dealership data needs.

We met with several brands, discussing how they are implementing specific commercial focus across their dealership networks.

All in all, c 10,000 visitors attended this year.

On show were, the latest offerings from Ford, Toyota and Isuzu plus a few newcomers INEOS, Maxus and LEVC.

The Ineos Grenadier, a new vehiicle specifically designed for tough off road condition was part of the companies' showcase. Introduced almost immediately after its UK Dealer network became live. Production of the Grenadier isn't sheduled until July 2022.

Maxus launched the first electrically powered pickup at the show, as well as a news people carrier - the MIFA 9.

LEVC, The London Electric Vehicle Company mauufactures the iconic TX, which is essentially a black cab. Launched in November 2020, LEVC launched an electric van - the VN5. This was the centrepiece of their stand.

Both TX and VN5 will be fitted with a new telematics system that will be pre-installed on production models.

As we move forward into 2022 and beyond, progressive companies want to know how to maximise the efficiency of their dealership networks. Our Autosites product directly addresses these needs, since we track the whole UK dealership network. We can offer analysis & reporting to make these activities deliver results accross an ever changing landscape.

Automechanika 2019

Attracting some 12000 visitors, Automechanika was without doubt the largest event in the 2019 calendar so far. Whether you were attending to meet new suppliers, visit existing or on the lookout for new ideas, the clout of some of the names present wouldn’t disappoint. Manufacturers such as Ford, Toyota, Mclaren, Nissan plus others were all in attendance.

The next event will be held in 2021, with many manufacturers reserving their stands in advance.

Commercial Vehicle Show 2019

This years Commercial Vehicle show at Birmingham’s Nec closed out last week after reporting visitor numbers that exceeded 20k. Obviously with these kind of numbers, any business invested in this sector is going to want to participate at some level.

Ford launched the latest iteration of its 2 tonne Transit. Improvements to payload and increased fuel efficiency have been achieved via changes to both design and improved materials.

As well as showcasing the Berlingo and Partner vans, Peugeot revealed a preview of its up and coming Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Relay offerings. In 2020 the group will also be launching other vans within its range, such as the Citroen Dispatch, Peugeot Expert and Vauxhall Vivaro (which also made its world debut at the 2019 show).

One vehicle that certainly drew some interest was Mitsubishi’s Shogun Sport SVP Concept. Differing from the standard Shogun, there are numerous revisions: the front grille, larger running boards/side steps, an LED light bar, 18 inch alloys and a larger rear spoiler. The suspension has also undergone redevelopment, and more… We couldn’t get a clear enough picture, but what a beast!

With the future of electric vehicles just around the corner, VW’s presence was significant, with the e-Crafter turning heads at the show. Also on display, were all-electric versions of the ABT e-Caddy and ABT e-Transporter.

JS Showcases Drive Time Data at Automechanika 2018

Preparations are underway to visit Automechanika in a few days time. The 3 day event is being held from 5th - 7th June.

As well as visiting the SMMT stand and meeting clients, we'll be showcasing our recently added drive time data.

The existing Autosites application allows users to visually interpret the hundreds of live data changes that occur every month across the dealership networks.  Until recently, the application had been able to show the proximity of sites by radius.

Adding the functionality of drive times to Autosites uncovers a whole new dimension to the current mapping, and helps users to improve the context of what they are visualising.

We've not stopped there either.  We are just finalising the incorporation of registration make/model data.

This will give clients access to queries and additional detail, such as make, body type, engine size, vehicle age, colour etc.

The efficient targeting of service and repair facilities, where to locate new and used car dealerships, or even identify redundant sites is now possible within one web-based application.

If anyone attending the show is interested in seeing how the system works and the level of queries available, we'd be more than happy to sit down over a cup of coffee and demonstrate how easy it is to get at the data.

We hope you enjoy the show.

JS Management 2015 - A Year in Review

2015 has been a significant year for JS Management. We launched the new version of our Dealer Locator Service, the tool subscribers use to query and view our UK franchised dealer data.

Taking advantage of the latest in web design technologies, this tool has a fresh, modern design and is equally at home on mobile and tablet as it is on the desktop. The tool allows users instant access to the latest data wherever they are.

Not only have we improved the look and accessibility of our data, we've been hard at work improving the quality from it's already high standard. We are in the process of developing new collection and analysis tools that allow us to produce data from many more sources.  Rigorous comparison, consolidation and standardisation routines enable us to provide a very consistent output for our Dealer Locator Tool.

Over the course of the year JS Management has carried out the following changes to our UK Franchised Dealer Database...

1646 new records were created.
8883 records had details updated.
2038 records were flagged as deleted.

As a subscriber to our database you have continuous access to this data, and any changes we make are instantly available to you. Reports are available detailing exactly which records have changed.

With over 10,000 changes this year,  subscription is a valuable resource for those who are serious about maintaining competitive advantage. We take pride in our commitment to providing up-to-date data, allowing you to confidently produce network planning analysis, as well as marketing and other analytical activities.

In 2016 our data development will continue to grow. By the end of quarter 4 we will have significantly improved the volume and frequency of changes across the entire UK Franchised Dealer network (currently covering cars, LCV, HGV, Motorcycles & ATV). We're also making significant changes to our Dealer Location Tool to allow greater querying and analysis of our data, we'll keep you posted through the year as this work progresses.

Happy New Year - and here's to an exciting 2016!

Automotive Events - NEC Commercial Vehicle Show 2015

When it comes to automotive events, the NEC's commercial vehicle show is one of the largest. The show is touted as providing commercial vehicle users with a unrivalled level of products and choices, more so than any other in the industry. This years show certainly came close to delivering that, with literally hundreds of exhibitors attending.

One notable celebration at the show was that of the Ford Transit. It is hard to believe that it is 50 years since the first vehicle rolled off the production line. Since its introduction in Langley 1965, there have been approximately 8 million models built.

Latest automotive data figures show that sales of Ford commercials are still buoyant, with an all time high reported in March 2015. 43% in fact, representing 16497 units year on year.

Models were launched, deals were made, and stars were met – so where do we start with a quick round-up of another successful show?

It wasn't just Ford having the limelight to themselves with the Transit either, as there were plenty of other launches from vehicle manufacturers.

Those worthy of mention in 2015, included a first for Dacia with the Duster Commercial.

Vauxhall presented its new Corsavan, sporting improvements and design changes to its chassis. Not wishing to be left out of the limelight was Citroen, whose Berlingo announced a new range of engines.

Taking the accolade of best newcomer, the new Mercedes Vito was launched and immediately drew attention to itself.

All in all, it was a great show and it was good to see so many automotive suppliers committed to bringing efficiency and innovation to the marketplace.

Motorcycle Trade Expo 2015

JS Management attended the Motorcycle Trade Expo, the largest trade only motorcycle show in Europe at Stoneleigh Park Exhibition Centre in Warwickshire on Tuesday to meet with new and existing customers and data suppliers.

The trade only nature of the event allowed us plenty of time to talk with manufacturers, suppliers and clients allowing us to really understand how our data is being put to use and how important the frequency with which we keep our data up to date is to our clients.

We also met new motorcycle manufacturers launching in the UK and have built relationships to include their dealer networks in our database and update them as they build out their dealer network. This work continues to ensure that we provide complete coverage of the motorcycle dealerships across the UK.

Motorcycle Live 2014

Motorcycle Manufacturer Honda Stand

The Motorcycle Live show was spread over 4 halls at the NEC. JS Management attended for two days this year to allow us time to visit all of our existing motorcycle manufacturer clients.

We'd also like to say thanks to some of the new manufacturers who are now supplying us with franchised dealership location data. This helps with our ongoing commitment to track and maintain total UK coverage of all new and existing motorcycle dealers.

Noisiest stand award this year has to go to Kawasaki, they had their Ninja H2R on the dyno. This track only bike could be heard across all four halls, and nearer to it you could feel the ground shake!

Check out the YouTube clip of the dyno run below.

ACFO Southern Regional Meeting

JS Management attended the ACFO southern regional meeting held at Arval in Swindon. Two interesting presentations were given by our hosts. The first covering safety related smartphone apps and the potential risk implications for fleet managers.

The second presentation covered the economy with key indicators for fleets, which provided a detailed overview of the fiscal and taxation factors that effect fleet operations. This was a well received presentation that gave good insight into potential trends that will play out over the next year and initiated a significant amount of discussion of the implications of these trends.
